Carnival Cruise Lines sets sail with Actalyst interactive digital signage
Guests use SMART’s interactive technology to access vessel, port and daily activity information
LAS VEGAS, Nevada --- June 10, 2005 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces the installation of Actalyst™ interactive digital signage aboard three Carnival Cruise Lines vessels, Carnival Miracle, Carnival Valor and Carnival Liberty. Guests touch Actalyst interactive digital signage mounted on 42" (107-cm) plasma displays to access information about deck plans, onboard events, meal times, shipboard staff, shore tours and port of call information. On average, there are four high-tech kiosks per vessel, and each vessel can accommodate between 2,124 and 2,974 guests.
Actalyst interactive digital signage makes current information readily available to guests. Content is updated regularly via a computer network and in real time by staff, and guests simply touch the kiosk’s interactive surface to retrieve information at any time. The interactive kiosks provide easy access to information and enhance guests’ onboard experiences.
“We decided on Actalyst interactive digital signage because of its quality, size, accurate touch control, ease of installation and SMART’s proven interactive technology,” says Tony Manthe, video services project manager, Carnival Cruise Lines. “Guest satisfaction is extremely important to Carnival, and we’ve already received a very positive response from guests who appreciate the value-added service that the interactive information kiosks provide.”
“Carnival's new onboard interactive information kiosks help guests make the most of their vacation plans,” says Nancy Knowlton, SMART’s president and co-CEO. “With Actalyst interactive digital signage, Carnival reinforces its commitment to providing an enjoyable vacation experience by incorporating high-performance technology into its customer services.”
